Centennial Park is such a staple in the Nashville landscape, and I loved playing with lines and light at the Parthenon and capturing the blooms so rich in color at the Sunken Gardens.

Along with my favorite combo, my Contax 645 and Canon A-1, I set out to create imagery that would convey these qualities and reflect the grounded and ethereal vibe of Rooted in Wellness. Shooting on film always presents its own set of challenges, one being that on this day, it was particularly cold outside so my shutter acted up a bit. The result? A fiery frame two photos down, unintentionally resembling the strength of Larissa, a woman, wife, mom, and business owner, These little imperfect surprises are part of what makes film photography so special to me. This just wouldn’t have happened if I was shooting with my digital camera, without some doctoring on the backend.
