Family Photographer Colorado

Amanda discovered she was pregnant while hiking the Colorado Trail so it was only fitting that the Mares family would document their (soon-to-be) family of three with photos somewhere adventurous. In the forests of Blue River, Colorado just about 15 minutes outside of Breckenridge, we hiked into a trail with about two feet of snowpack beneath us giving us a good bit of adventure for their family session.

Amanda and David approached their family photo session with a sense of adventure, lots of laughter, and their authentic selves, the three ingredients we believe make for a perfectly imperfect photo session of creating magic together. This creates candid family photos that as a family photographer, I love to see.

Right before my shutter clicked for this photo, David leaned in and said, “oh hey, Baby L” and Amanda responded, “your parents are cold and you are warm.” As a family photographer who wants to capture moments honestly, I believe in creating a space for you to not only enjoy our time together and the beautiful surroundings during the family session, but also this unique and once-in-a-lifetime season of life you’re in. Allowing space to breathe and laugh is essential for that and I’m so honored that Amanda and David allowed me into their little slice of life during our 60 minutes together.
